Campaign Co-Chair
Mr. Boxley is President and CEO of Boxley Materials Company. He serves as a director for RGC Resources, Inc., Valley Bank, the Taubman Museum of Art, Carilion Clinic, and Center in the Square. Mr. Boxley has been involved with and served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations. He is currently active in youth sports, coaching baseball, basketball, and football for Roanoke City.

Mr. Lawson is the retired President and CEO of the Western Virginia Region for SunTrust Bank. He serves on the boards of the Virginia Tech Foundation, the Western Virginia Water Authority, Friendship Retirement Community, the Taubman Museum of Art, Center in the Square, and several corporate boards. Mr. Lawson has served on the boards of many charitable organizations and as chairman of the United Way, Downtown Roanoke, Inc., and the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Warner Dalhouse was instrumental in the birth of Center in the Square. Mr. Dalhouse has served as a Center in the Square board member since its inception and multiple terms as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Dalhouse is the retired Chairman of the Board of Dominion Bankshares Corporation, and serves on the board of HomeTown bank. Mr. Dalhouse has served on the boards of a long list of civic and charitable organizations, many in prominent leadership roles.

Honorary Co-Chair
Mr. Davidson is the retired CEO of Davidsons, the oldest business still in existence in downtown Roanoke. Mr. Davidson was part of the Design 79 committee that led to the creation of Center in the Square, and was campaign chair for the Center on Church effort. He has served on numerous boards including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Literacy Volunteers of America, and Roanoke College.

William B. Hopkins headshotWilliam B. Hopkins, Sr., Esq.
Honorary Co-Chair
Senator Hopkins is an attorney with Martin, Hopkins, and Lemon. Retired from the U.S. Marine Corps., he served in World War II and the Korean War. A Virginia State Senator for 20 years and Majority leader for four years, Senator Hopkins was one of the founding members of Center in the Square. Senator Hopkins was a past president of the Roanoke Bar Association, Commander of the American Legion, and a member of the V.F.W.

Considered by many to be the mother of Center in the Square, Mrs. Muse conceived of the concept of the organization and was instrumental in assembling Center's original beneficiary organizations - the Art Museum, Science Museum, History Museum, and Mill Mountain Theatre. Mrs. Muse has served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations.

Mr. Combs is a private investor and a retired executive from the food brokerage business. Mr. Combs serves on the boards of Friendship Retirement Community, StellarOne Corporation, and Petroleum Marketers, Inc. He also serves on several civic boards including the New Century Venture Center, the Virginia Western Community College Educational Foundation, Center in the Square, and the Roanoke Country Club

Mrs. Ellett is a community volunteer and retired educator. She serves on the boards of Richfield Retirement Community, the Western Virginia Land Trust, and the Foundation for Roanoke Valley. Mrs. Ellett is the past chair of the Roanoke Valley Greenway Commission. She is also the past President of the Junior League, the Science Museum, Valley Beautiful, and The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge. She has also served on the boards of numerous charitable organizations.

Mr. Cartledge is the Chairman and CEO of Grand Home Furnishings, and Chairman of the Board for Center in the Square. Mr. Cartledge served as a trustee for Hampden-Sydney College for 28 years, and is currently a Trustee Emeritas. Mr. Cartledge is Vice Chairman of Hometown Bank and has served on the board of the Carilion Health System for 34 years. Mr. Cartledge has served on numerous corporate and charitable boards.

Mr. Warner is a retired investor and former owner of the Roanoke subsidiary of Ferguson Enterprises, and was a founding director of Valley Bank. A former coach and teacher, Mr. Warner has served on numerous boards including Roanoke College, the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce, St. Andrews Catholic Church, the Virginia Western Community College Educational Foundation, Mill Mountain Theatre, and Center in the Square.

Mr. Bennett is the Executive Vice President and COO of Grand Home Furnishings. He serves on numerous boards including the Virginia Museum of Transportation, the Taubman Museum of Art, and First Fridays at 5. Mr. Bennett was co-founder of Star City Motor Madness and an organizer of Hometown Bank. He has served on the boards of many local non-profit organizations.

Mr. Rocovich is Chairman of the law firm Moss & Rocovich. He has served Virginia Tech in numerous leadership roles including Rector of the Board of Visitors. He is Chairman of the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Via-Bradley College of Engineering Foundation, the Harvey W. Peters Research Center Foundation, and President of the W.E. Skelton 4-H Educational Conference Center. He has served on numerous charitable and corporate boards and Governor's Commissions.

Mr. Bucher is active in the community, serving on the boards of the Virginia Transportation Museum, the Virginia College Fund, and Center in the Square.

He serves on the Executive Committee for the United Way of the Roanoke Valley, as a board member for the Virginia Western Community College Educational Foundation, Downtown Roanoke, Inc., and the YMCA of the Roanoke Valley.

Mrs. Frantz is a community volunteer, retired from commercial lending and private banking with Bank of America. She serves on the boards of the Western Virginia Land Trust, Greenvale School, the Mill Mountain Garden Club, and the Roanoke Valley Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She is also a past President of the Junior League of the Roanoke Valley.

Dr. Dallas is the Director of Continuing Medical Education for the Carilion Health System. He serves on several standing committees at the Carilion Clinic, including the Education Committee, Quality Council, and the Product Evaluation Committee. Dr. Dallas has received numerous professional awards and honors. He serves on the boards of the Bradley Free Clinic, the Rescue Mission Health Center Advisory Board, and Center in the Square.

Mr. Hale is a partner with the law firm LeClairRyan. He served two terms as Chairman of the Business Law Section of the Virginia State Bar and has received numerous accolades within his profession. Named the 2008 Small Business Advocate of the Year by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce, he serves on the board of Center in the Square and is a former board member of the Community Youth Program at St. John's.
